PostHeaderIcon New Environmental Tips

Electronics: When you buy new electronic appliances it is good to check that they are ecologically-friendly. There is a list on http://www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/toxics/electronics/how-the-companies-line-up
Tree-Planting: It is a good habbit to plant trees when you go on walks in the forest.
Walking: When you are walking in nature make sure NOT to throw any non-biodegradable (plastic, chemicals) waste at all. But throwing away organic matter can be tollerated, especially organic food.
Garden: It is always a good idea to plant trees in your garden. Trees are an important source of oxygen and cleaner air in your garden, of shade and of a cool breeze which is especially helpfull during summer. Also most of the time you will not need to water trees.
Rainwater: There are special systems for gathering rainwater. These systems are very good, especially if you have a big garden (and it rains where you live) because you will not "waste" anny more water for your plants, and rainwater can be healthier for your plants as it does not contain chlorine. You can also have a domestic use of rainwater.
Recycling: It is a VERY GOOD habbit to recycle as much as possible (to become a recycling freak!), because this way you are limiting your impact on the environment.
Holidays: Going on holidays to long destinations is harmful for the environment and for your wallet. So if you are living in Europe for example, think about going to countries such as Greece and Cyprus as the same exotic climate as in the dream-destinations you want to go to.
Transport: For short distances do not use your car. Take your bike instead or go on foot. Also if there is public transport in your area ALWAYS use these instead (This way you can make huge savings from oil and car parts!).
Garden: Why use fertilisers and chemicals on a flower garden (something totally accessory), when you are not even growing these plants for food. So totally avoid using chemicals AT ALL in your garden.
Garden: Instead of using chemiclas you can use natural fertilisers and pesticides, especially for tyhe food you grow. Not only you will not come in contact with dangerous chemicals but also you woud not be poisoned every time you enjoy your garden or eat the food you grow.
